Q Do you offer a standard web-based database package?

A Sometimes we wish we did (we could go home earlier), but the needs of most businesses and organizations are unique. Many companies in our industry sell ready-made solutions (the solution-in-search-of-a-problem approach) such as Xoops and Mambo, but from our perspective, the amount of customization usually required to satisfy clients' needs makes this an impractical approach.

The primary advantage of pre-fabricated solutions is the time and work saved for the developer. If they are open source, of course, these solutions can be customized. But doing so negates the benefits to the developer. As a result, the developer may resist requests for customization, or significant additional charges may be incurred. (It should be noted there are legitimate reasons why certain customizations cannot be made: due sometimes to budget or schedule limitations, sometimes to limitations in internet technology.)
